HOOLIGAN SPAWN

from $75.00

The hooligan run in Haines, Alaska, is a springtime event where thousands of small fish, also known as eulachon or candlefish, migrate up the Chilkat River to spawn. This annual run draws an incredible variety of wildlife, including whales and huge schools of birds that feed on the rich fish, while locals harvest them using dip nets, continuing a tradition that has sustained the Tlingit people for millenia.
