The Taku is one of the largest undammed rivers in North America, flowing from British Columbia into Southeast Alaska. It supports one of the region's most significant salmon runs and is fed by the Juneau Icefield. The Taku is ecologically vital to the region including Juneau, Alaska’s capital. I took this photo during a 10-day pack raft trip down the river, documenting the impact of the abandoned Tulsequah Chief Mine.
